I just got a membership, so why can’t I buy things?

Don’t worry! If you just signed up for a membership, but still can’t get member-only items here’s a few things you can do:

Log out of Club Penguin so the system can update your account, then log back in.
Depending on what type of payment was used to buy your membership, it may take a few days for it to activate. Visit How soon will my membership take effect?, to see if your membership needs time to update.
If that time has passed and you still don’t have your membership, ask an adult to contact Club Penguin’s Billing Team, they’ll be happy to help you!

When does my membership expire?

When your membership is about to expire, we’ll send your penguin a postcard reminder. We’ll also send an email to the address associated with your penguin account.

If you’re not sure when your membership will expire, ask an adult to log into their Parent Account and select your penguin account.

There they will find all the important information about your penguin, including when your membership will expire.

If they don’t have a Parent Account, ask them to create one!

What do the bars under my membership badge mean?

Curious about what all those bars under your membership badge mean?

Your Membership badge displays different colored stripes to show how long you’ve been a member for. There are five different levels to your badge.

Badge Level 1: 0-6 Months = Member Badge appears
Badge Level 2: 7-12 Months = Member Badge with a blue stripe
Badge Level 3: 13-18 Months = Member Badge with blue and orange stripes
Badge Level 4: 19-24 Months = Member Badge with white, blue and orange stripes
Badge Level 5: 25+ Months = Member Badge with white, blue, orange stripes and a star

What are the benefits of a membership?

A membership means you’ll get access to everything in Club Penguin! You’ll be able to:

Buy clothing and accessories
Buy igloo upgrades, locations and furniture
Adopt up to 20 puffles, in any color
Access all game levels
Get into exclusive rooms during parties
Get more free items during parties

Can I add more than one Membership Card to my account?

Yes! You can add a new Membership Card to your account at any time.

For example, let’s say you purchased a 6 month Membership Card, but still have 1 month left on your current membership. You can add the 6 Membership Card to your account at anytime and you’ll get the full time you’ve paid for!

This means you can even purchase two 6 month Membership Cards and activate them at the same time to enjoy a full year of membership.

How do I become a member?

It’s very simple to become a Club Penguin member. Before you purchase a membership, you’ll need to ask an adult for their permission.

Once you have an adult’s permission, visit our Membership page together to add a membership to your penguin account.

If you don’t have a penguin account, you can create one as you purchase your membership.

How do I update my membership?

Want to update what type of recurring membership you have, or change your credit card information?

First you’ll need to cancel your current membership, then purchase a new membership with your updated information.

Log in to your Parent Account to cancel your membership
Then visit our Membership page to update your membership

Can I have more than one penguin under the same membership?

Sorry, each penguin requires its own separate membership.

How much does membership cost?

The cost of a membership depends on what currency you make the purchase in and the membership plan you choose.

You can purchase recurring memberships online in 1, 6, and 12 month plans
Membership Cards are available, in stores, in 1, 3, 6, and 12 month values
You can also purchase a membership gift certificate online

How soon will my membership take effect?

Most of the time your membership activates instantly, but it may take a bit longer depending on how it was purchased.

Here’s some helpful information on how long your membership may take to activate:

Credit Cards and Membership Cards are activated immediately
Other methods of payment may take up to 14 days to activate

For more information on how long your membership may take to activate, or if has been 14 days and your membership has not been activated, please ask an adult to contact Club Penguin’s Billing Team.
