The original Twitter account for That Penguin Game wasn’t always known by that name, nor did it feature the same content. Created in December 2013, it was initially called RateCPItems. I noticed how much penguins loved showcasing their rare items, especially at Club Penguin’s Dock on the Sleet server. This inspired me to create a Twitter page where the community could share their collections on a different platform.

The account name and purpose changed within its first month. As my first Twitter account, I quickly learned that the phrase “Retweet this if…” was incredibly popular, leading to high user engagement. I decided to rename the account RetweetThisCP, focusing on Club Penguin-related “Retweet this if…” posts. This strategy was a huge success, and I reached my first milestone of 1,000 followers in just three months. Over time, I involved more of the Club Penguin community by creating posts like “Retweet this to wish … a Happy Birthday,” “Retweet this if you know …,” and Membership Giveaways, all of which contributed to the account’s growth.

With the closures of both Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island, I noticed a decline in interactions on the account. However, my passion for the game and the community remained strong. Rather than letting the account become inactive like many other Club Penguin-related accounts, I sought out new content to keep it vibrant and engaging.

Since I joined Twitter, I’ve always been a fan of a blog called Club Penguin Memories, run by Trainman1405, which is still online for everyone to enjoy. He’s a respected and trusted blogger in the Twitter community, known for posting updates quickly and being resourceful. My interest in Club Penguin history was sparked by him, but the second major influence in my journey has been my close friend Carphon, a dedicated Club Penguin historian. He began documenting the game’s history and sharing his findings on Twitter. Without these two penguins, I might not have maintained my passion for Club Penguin or stayed involved in the community. Please check out their Twitter accounts to support their contributions to Club Penguin!

Thanks to these two penguins, I finally settled on the name That Penguin Game in 2019, and it has remained ever since. I continue to share daily posts featuring “… years ago today” and keep updating my private collection of game update dates to share on the account. The list is constantly growing, and I hope to share even more of it here on the website and on other platforms in the future.

Other Penguins that I would like to thank as well: Polo Field, Jimbobson, Ryboflavin.
