Website History:

That Penguin Game began as a Twitter account from 2013 to 2024. After growing to 20,000 followers, the creator, Questy, decided it was time to expand, as social media limited how much he could share. He also recognized that many Club Penguin fans remained active, even six years after official Club Penguin content had stopped. Creating a website would allow him to share more content and build a fun, ongoing fan blog.

In March 2024, Questy began archiving Club Penguin blog posts, fan-blog pin screenshots, official merchandise inventories, creating guides for PSA missions, and much more, building a collection of content for all penguins. This archive became the core content of the site and continues to be updated to this day.

By January 2026, Questy wanted to introduce a new type of content he had always been passionate about within the community. With the main social media account on X approaching 30,000 followers, he felt it was the right time to launch ‘Waddle for a Cause.’ This project features webpages dedicated to real-life charities and animal awareness causes that align with the spirit of Club Penguin, even including organizations that were once part of Club Penguin’s Coins for Change program.

Social Media History:

That Penguin Game wasn’t always known by that name, nor did it feature the same content. Created in December 2013, it was initially called RateCPItems. Questy noticed how much penguins loved showcasing their rare items, especially at Club Penguin’s Dock on the Sleet server. This inspired to create a Twitter page where the community could share their collections on a different platform.

The account name and purpose changed within its first month. As a first Twitter account, he quickly learned that the phrase ‘Retweet this if…’ was incredibly popular, leading to high user engagement. A name change to RetweetThisCP, focusing on Club Penguin-related ‘Retweet this if…’ posts would happen. This strategy was a huge success, and the account reached it’s first milestone of 1,000 followers in just three months. Over time, more of the Club Penguin community was involved by creating posts like ‘Retweet this to wish [penguin name] a Happy Birthday,’ ‘Retweet this if you know [penguin name]‘ and Membership Giveaways, all of which contributed to the account’s growth.

With the closures of both Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island, there was a noticeable decline in interactions on the account. However, Questy’s passion for the game and the community remained strong. Rather than letting the account become inactive like many other Club Penguin-related accounts, he started to push out new Penguin content to keep it engaging.

Since joining Twitter, He always been a fan of a blog called Club Penguin Memories, run by Trainman1405, which is still online for everyone to enjoy. Train was a respected and trusted blogger in the Twitter community, known for posting updates quickly and being resourceful. Questy’s interest in Club Penguin history was sparked by him, but the second major influence in this new founded interest was my close friend Carphon, a dedicated Club Penguin historian. Carphon began documenting the game’s history and sharing his findings on Twitter. Without these two penguins, Questy might not have maintained his passion for Club Penguin or stayed involved in the community. Please check out their links above to support their contributions to Club Penguin!

Thanks to these two penguins, Questy finally settled on the name That Penguin Game in 2019, and it has remained ever since. Continuing to share daily posts featuring ‘# years ago today’ and keep updating his private collection of game update dates to share on the account. The list is constantly growing, and plans to share even more of it here on the website and on other platforms in the future.

Other Penguins that he would like to thank as well: Polo Field, Jimbobson, Ryboflavin.
